The Future of Healthcare.

“If we’re able to stop Obama on this it will be his Waterloo. It will break him.”

Make no mistake, this is the Republican stand on health care. This quote from Sen. Jim DeMint embodies the breadth of republican concerns, not coverage for every American, not reducing the deficit and eliminating the trillions of dollars in wasteful spending but breaking the president on this one issue. In all honesty, the GOP is demanding that the president and Democrats scrap the current health bill and start over from scratch in a “bi-partisan” way but have yet to present a comprehensive plan of their own because there is no real intention on their part to overhaul health insurance. You have to understand that health insurance is big, big, business. You also have to understand that these companies spend billions of dollars lobbying senators on their behalf, so for them change is bad. This debate is no longer about bi-partisan politics as republicans have proven they are not willing to vote for health care no matter what, this is now about political posturing at the expense of American livelihood. I for one am sick of the same policies from the same party that in the span of eight years nearly drove the country into the ground. I welcome change, and new ideas, and a new direction for this country and I believe that it is our duty as Americans to support our President and help get this bill passed.
